Hey guys! I just got done with Pic-a-Thon 2011... I swatched the pictures for this post AND did my mani for tomorrow's Followers Pick post!
I've been talking about doing this ever since I pulled Jesse's Girl Confetti out of the package I won from Chloe's Nails! It reminded me a lot of Sally Hansen HD DVD.... So I made a comparison for you!
Here are they bottles next to each other... You can see here now similar they look!
And on the nail. DVD on pinky and middle, and Confetti on ring and pointer. Confetti is just a touch more purple... but to be honest, it shows in the pictures more than it did IRL. The texture and shimmer are the same, although the angle at which they flash their various shades is different. They show the same shades, just at different angles. (If that even makes sense....) My original suspicion was correct.... these two are very very close dupes. Jesse's Girl runs $2.99 at CVS, and Sally Hansen HD polishes are usually about $7. So, if you've been lemming DVD, Confetti is a suitable cheaper substitute... and the bottles are just adorable!
Now of course, I couldn't stop there. If you're a member of the Polish-aholics Anonymous group on Facebook, you've heard the buzz about the holographic "Gram" we all bought from a seller on eBay. We heard about it from a blogger that purchased it a few months back. It's a powder holographic pigment, used to make holographic paint. She showed swatches of a DIY Holo she made with it, and we went nuts! Of course, I was one of the many girls that bought a "Gram"! (Lol)
I decided to add about 2 pinches (no, I didn't actually touch it...) to my Jesse's Girl Confetti.... And this was the outcome!
Woo hoo! This is my first franken! I dub thee "Quicksilver"! I'm proud. <3
I hope you guys enjoy this post! Keep an eye out for the Follower's Pick tomorrow, and don't forget to vote in the new poll!
