The awesome Amber approached me about doing a guest post while she gets to go away and play and of course I said yes. I hope she is having a wonderful time away on vacay and can't wait to see some pics!
For today I have some layering with some amazing polishes. I have layered BYS Through the Looking Glass over Bettina's Over-Dyed and then threw some O.P.I Blue Shatter on top of it all for a subtle contrast but bold look. I won't rant much and get to the pics!
Bettina's Over Dyed is an awesome Cerulean Blue creme with the most amazing application. This was two coats but I could have gotten away with one coat. This color is part of the Jeans collection. BYS Through the Looking Glass is something very similar to O.P.I Absolutely Alice but the glitter in TTLG is less fine and the Gold accent glitter is darker and more Coppery. I'm sure this glitter builds up to full coverage and can be worn on its own but... I cannot handle the smell on these BYS polishes!!! They smell sooo strong, just thinking about the smell gives me a headache. So to avoid exposing myself to the smell longer than necessary I layered over the Blue creme base to give Over Dyed a hint of sparkle. The Blue Shatter was an after thought and even though the contrast is very subtle I love how the sparkle peeks through the shatter. Think of this mani as glittery, distressed denim lol! Who doesn't love a pair of those?
So bout smelly polishes.. Are you guys willing to put up with them if they are pretty enough?
(**O.P.I Blue Shatter sent for consideration**)
