Color Club Scent-suous Holiday: The Mystery 2011 Holiday Collection at... Sally's???

So, I have something really exciting to show you guys. I am baffled by a few things... Maybe you guys can help me figure this out.

#1: Color Club polishes can now be found at Sally Beauty Supply. All together now.... WHAT?! Yeah. My Sally's girl Felicia said, "We got these Color Clubs in today!" and I was like, "Wait, what??" Yeah. Color Club. Sally's. No joke.

#2: I have never heard of this collection, and apparently neither has Google. Seriously, it's like the collection that never existed. No blogs about it, no press releases... Nothing! I don't get it.

So, I give you the Color Club Scent-suous Holiday collection. 6 polishes, all SCENTED!

Now, for the swatches!

Gingerbread Man: A gold metallic shimmer. The formula was absolutely perfect, with just 2 coats. To be honest, I could have gotten away with 1, but I'm a habitual 2-coater. Gingerbread Man is aptly named, because it smells just like a fresh gingerbread cookie!

Kiss Me Mistletoe: A pine-green metallic shimmer. Again with the 2-coats-but-could-be-one formula... These two are gorgeous! This one smells like pine needles.

Santa's Cinnamon: Red glitter in a red jelly base. The pictures do this no justice! The glitter in this just glows like it's on fire! It smells just like Red Hots or Big Red gum.

Now, a word of caution.... Shield your eyes. Sunglasses would be a good idea. Also shield your keyboard. These last glitters are in-freakin'-sane.

Orna-Minted: WOAH. Small, medium, and chunky large hex glitters in a clear base. I layered 2 coats of Orna-minted over a silver polish. This is so blingy... I don't even know what to say! It's like OPI Crown Me Already on crack! And it smells like peppermint!

Sugar Plum Yum: Same size glitters as Orna-Minted, except in this one, the small ones are kelly green, and the medium and large ones are grapey-purple. This one smells like... Plum? I guess? I layered it over Zoya Ivanka.

Very Merry Berry: Same as above(s). Small is sky blue, medium and large are magenta. Smells like delicious berries! Layered over Zoya Noel.

So, how do you like that! Aren't those glitters something else? Now, they are a bit chunky, so the polish tends to be very thick and uneven. With a good coat or two of Gelous or Seche Vite though, I think you'd be ok. This whole collection is a win for me!

As far as availability goes, I have no idea if/when your Sally's will be getting this collection. They are $4.99 a piece.

Have you seen/heard anything about this collection? What do you think about these glitters?! Which ones are you wanting for yourself?

Sephora by OPI Sugar Plum Fairies Gone Wild

Bonus Sunday post! I have another post planned for this afternoon, but this is a spur of the moment swatch. I've gotten a lot of traffic lately for this polish, on my post of Zoya Dannii with an accent finger. This glitter is so gorgeous though, so I figured the Googlers would enjoy a full swatch!

Here is Sephora by OPI's Sugar Plum Fairies Gone Wild.

Inside, no flash.
Sugar Plum Fairies Gone Wild is a combination of purple round micro glitter and large hex holographic purple glitters in a clear base. This polish is so insanely packed with glitter! It's completely opaque in 2 coats, although this is layered over Julep Taylor. I wish my pictures would have captured the holographic glitter a bit better.... but trust me when I say that in real life, it's stunning!

There you go, Googlers! Now, run to your nearest Sephora and snatch this up ASAP!

Julep Taylor

Here's a gorgeous Julep shade that I got with one of my referral credits, Julep Taylor.

Taylor is a gorgeous blue-violet creme. The pic shows it a bit more blue than it really is. The formula was dreamy, with just 2 highly pigmented coats. It reminds me of...

Yep, that's about right!

I've been really impressed with the way Julep has been improving over the last few months! They changed their shipping from FedEx Smart Post to USPS (thank goodness!!), so the shipping will be MUCH faster now! Another cool thing I saw happen last week... When they sent out the November Maven Box preview email, many people were upset that there was just one polish, along with a lipgloss and a make up bag. I can understand their frustration at this, seeing as Julep advertised the Maven box as a program about nail polish and treatments. Julep really listened to it's customers, and made a shelf pull option called "Polish Lovers", with 3 polishes instead of the lip gloss and bag! I opted for this option... I should be getting my box later this week!

Haven't signed up for the Julep Maven program yet? Click here to get started!

Zoya Jancyn

Hey guys! I hope your week has been great! I have been sick all week with this sinus infection crap.... I really hope it moves out soon! My ribcage sounds posessed! D:

Here is another one of my Zoya Untrieds for you, Zoya Jancyn. Orange has never been  my thing, nor has yellow. I'm just not drawn to orange. With that being said, Jancyn is the perfect pumpkin orange! I got so many compliments on this color, which blows my mind. I wear holographics, duochromes, and the most gorgeous shimmers.... and I get compliments on a bright orange creme?!

This is 3 coats of Jancyn. The formula was a little bit wonky and patchy, as yellows and oranges tend to be, but it leveled out at 3 coats. I meant to add some cute black stamping, but decorating for the halloween party at work kinda destroyed it, so Jancyn remained chipped and undecorated. :(

Happy Friday!

Halloween Glow In The Dark Funky French!

Hey guys! I have finally gotten around to doing a pretty Halloween mani! Check it out!

For this manicure, I started out with Finger Paints Comet's Collar, from the new Merry & Bright collection. Then, I added 2 coats of OPI Zom-body To Love, the fun glow in the dark green. I used scotch tape and Sally Hansen Black Out to add funky french tips, and then I stamped the Jack-o-lantern from my BM-222 plate. This is the first time I've actually pulled off tips with scotch tape... I love the way this turned out! And of course, here is the obligatory glow-y picture!

Super fun! I love Halloween... I also have a treat picture for you... here's my Halloween costume! I'm the Doctor, from Dr. Who!

Come  along, Pond!
Where are my Whovians at?!

What are you going to be for Halloween? :D

Neon Rainbow Gradient + Black Watermarble = EPIC WIN

Hey guys! I have a super cool manicure to show you today! I got this idea from a YouTube tutorial that was posted on Facebook the other day, but I can't find the video now! If anyone can find it, let me know and I will add it!

First, I used 2 coats of Sally Hansen Whirlwind White. Then, I used the Color Club Poptastic collection to sponge a rainbow gradient across all 5 fingers. Finally, I did a watermarble with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Black Out and China Glaze White Cap. White Cap is sheer enough when marbled that the neon polish shows through underneath!

So neat and fun!! I never want to take this off, seriously!! I think the next time I do a marble like this, I'll use China  Glaze Fairy Dust... That would look so neat against the bright colors! You have got to go try a marble like this. Right NOW!

EDIT! Here's the video... Thanks Liz!

Nails Inc Magnetic Nail Polish: Trafalgar Square

Fun things! When Sarah was visiting last weekend, we went on a quest to find Nails Inc Magnetic polish at Sephora! We found it in the Green Hills mall in Nashville! I picked up both of the 2 shades they had: Trafalgar Square and Houses of Parliament.

I know a lot of people have trouble getting the Essence magnetics to work well, myself included. I did find that a few things helped me, after playing around with the Essence ones and my new Nails Inc pretties: First, shake the polish very well to evenly distribute the magnetic particles. Then, paint one coat of the polish on all nails, and let it dry. Then, apply another very thick coat one nail at a time, and hold the magnet over them. This method worked well for me, and I hope it helps you!

Today, I decided to show you the mani I did with Trafalgar Square, which is a shimmery steel grey.

I used the Nails Inc magnet on every finger except my ring finger... on which I used my LCN Starburst magnet. These polishes seriously work so well! Not only that, they tend to have kind of a 3D effect when you move your nail... The lines move! Unlike the Essence magnet that gives a striped pattern, the Nails Inc magnet makes a wavy pattern. Also, I love the design of the magnet. It's attached to the "outer cap", which slides on and off of the normal brush cap. It also has a ridge on the side of the magnet that you place on your cuticle, so you don't have to "hover" the magnet like you do with other brands.

The price on the Nails Inc magnetics is a bit steep at $16 per bottle, but if you're wanting to play around with magnetics, it's totally worth it!

Sinful Colors Mint Apple

A quick post for you today! This is a Sinful Colors polish that I just picked up... Mint Apple!

Mint Apple is exactly what it sounds like.... a mint-tinted green with a silver shimmer. At 2 coats, this is absolutely gorgeous!

I hope you're all having a great weekend!

Finger Paints Merry & Bright 2011 Holiday Collection Swatches and Photos

It's almost that time of year! My favorite.... Christmas! I am so excited to see that the Holiday collections are already being released! Today, I have something really exciting to show you.... Swatches of the new Finger Paints Holiday 2011 collection, called Merry & Bright!

There are 6 shades in this collection, 3 shimmers and 3 glitters. Here they are!

Comet's Collar: A gorgeous apple green with a slightly-rainbow shimmer! This is by FAR my favorite from the collection! I highly suggest you big-ify those pictures to see the detail... It's stunning! If you love green, you need this beauty! This is 2 coats.

Winter Sky: A bright teal blue shimmer. The pictures show it just a tad brighter than it is... It's such a gorgeous blue! A warning though, this is a double base coater. This one stained my nails and lightly stained the fingers around my nails... but it was nothing my Julep Facial for Hands scrub couldn't cure. This is 2 coats.

Yule Be Merry: A bright cranberry red with a pearly pink shimmer. I love this shade, and you know I'm not a red girl! This will be my next pedicure color, I think. So gorgeous! 2 coats.

Drummer Boy: Bright blue glitter in a clear base. This is 3 coats.

Frosty Night: Silver glitter in a clear base. 3 coats.

Santa Kisses: Red glitter in a clear base. 2 coats.

How fun is this collection! I also layered the bling:

Overall, I think this is a great holiday collection! Very interesting colors, especially the green! The glitters will be great for layering, too! These will be hitting shelves in Sally Beauty Supply in November.

Which of these do you have your eye on?
