Traci's Guest Post: Zoya Tallulah

Hello everyone! Today I will be filling in for Amber while she is away on vacation! My name is Traci and my blog is The Trace Face Philes. I chose Zoya Tallulah for my guest appearance. It is my first time using it and boy do I love this blue! It is a medium shade of blue that reminds me of a cerulean-turquoise mix. The photo on Zoya's website appears lighter than the actual polish is in person. I would say Tallulah is similar to Zoya Jo, but is a couple of shades darker with more of an aqua look to it. Zoya describes Tallulah as "Medium electric cobalt blue with fine bright aqua shimmer. A bold blue that looks good on all skin tones."  I used 2 coats but if you do thicker coats you could get away with only one! Application is super smooth, Zoya has a very easy to work with brush. I love the shape of the lid, and the bottles are the perfect size! All of my photos were taken under artificial light without flash.

Zoya retails for $8 on artofbeauty.com and you can also find select bottles at Ulta stores for $7.

Destany's Guest Post: Revlon Top Speed Fire

Hello everyone :)

First of all, let me say thanks to Amber for giving me the opportunity to be a guest blogger here! I'm so super excited and honored that she thought of me for this :)

What do I have for you today? Revlon Top Speed in Fire! I chose this polish because this brand is on sale at CVS right now - $4.99 a bottle (limit 6) ... but you get $4 in Extra Care Bucks with each bottle!

The formula on this is not too thick, not too thin. I only need one coat. Yes, one coat! My base was China Glaze Strong Adhesion, then one coat of the polish, then a top coat of ORLY Sec'nDry. Coverage was complete and even, no streaking. I'm seriously holding myself from buying every color I can find. Here's a picture in direct sunlight:

I have some serious nubbins going on right now! heheh And he is a shot in the shade (You can see the giant tree in my front yard reflected in my middle finger):

As you can see, the coverage for on coat is awesome! I hope to pick some more up at CVS with the sale :)

Finger Paints Pink Imagination

Hello Loves! Today is the day I leave for my vacation! I work from 8-12 today, and then I have to be at the airport at around 4:45 PM. I'll be arriving in England tomorrow at 11:35 AM! (6 hour time difference, of course...) I'll be visiting family in Ireland and London, and then my husband and I will be spending 5 days in Italy! I can't just leave my girls hangin' though, so I have some great guest posts scheduled for you ladies for the next week... I can't wait for you to see them! These ladies worked hard for you and came up with some great manicures to share!

Today, I have for you Finger Paints' Pink Imagination!

Pink Imagination is a gorgeous powder pink with glass fleck shimmer. This is 3 coats. There was a teensy bit of VNL, but not enough to be bothersome. I love this color! So girly and sweet... just perfect! Also, can we just talk for a minute about how ADORABLE the Finger Paints bottles are?! Round and cute, with a tall skinny cap... They're just so fun!

OPI From A to Z-urich

Hey guys! Another polish that I took pictures of a few weeks ago and didn't post... OPI's From A to Z-urich!

From A to Z-urich is a gorgeous creme red... I would describe it as a brick red. I'm not usually one for reds (I only have 5 or so), but this one is gorgeous! And it's a good thing to.... This one was picked out by my hubster. <3

Pink Wednesday: Water Marble!

Happy Wednesday, ladies!

Once again,  I have to apologize for the terrible pictures... This is the last time, I PROMISE!

It has been such a long time since I did a water marble, so I decided to do one for today's Pink Wednesday post!

(Poor leftie nubbins....)

For this mani, I used:
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Whirlwind White for base color
Sally Hansen Black Out
Sally Hansen Celeb City
Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink
Sally Hansen Fuchsia Power

Enjoy! <3

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Virtual Violet.... and a fail.

Hey guys! Firstly, I'd like to apologize in advance. These pictures are terrible. They're a horrible, blurry mess. My camera that I usually use is dead, so I'm using my old one.... and they're just awful. I promise I will get some batteries with the quickness, and I won't subject you to this horror again after tomorrow. So, I'm sorry. Also, this mani turned into a bubbly mess. This was my first go with Out The Door topcoat, and I think I put it on a bit too soon. So, please excuse the bubbles!

Now, with all of that aside, I had to show you this gorgeous polish! I picked this up the other day during my "Amber buys one of every Xtreme Wear polishes" binge the other day at Walgreens. Yes, I was bad.

This is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear, Virtual Violet!

Virtual Violet is a gorgeous blue/lavender duo-chrome that just glows! The color is a lot like Sally Hansen HD DVD, but without the glitter. It has a gorgeous faint shimmer that comes alive in the sunshine... I couldn't stop staring at my nails! At $3, this is a must-have!

I hope you excused my terrible pictures and enjoy this beautiful polish!

I'm seriously loving me some Finger Paints glitters... They're so fun! This is 3 coats... teeny tiny little teal glitters in a clear base. Love!

Followers Pick Friday: China Glaze Dorothy Who?

Sorry this is a little late.... I've had LOTS to do today, and I JUST got home!

Here it is, dear followers... your OVERWHELMINGLY-VOTED ON pick, China Glaze Dorothy Who?

Dorothy Who? is a gorgeous cerulean blue with pretty glass-fleck-y glitter! This went on wonderfully with 2 thin coats. Could have done with 3, but 2 sufficed. Then I added funky matte french tips with Zoya Loredana!

Off to bed... check back tomorrow for the new poll! :)

Pink Wednesday! Zoya Happi + Essence I Love My Jeans

Happy Pink Wednesday, everyone!

Today, I have for you a cute girly mani with Zoya Happi!

Zoya describes Happi as "A pink metallic duochrome", and adds that "a frosty hint of  gold creates a unique peachy-pink". This is a 2 coats. To be honest, I could have gotten away with one, but I'm obsessive about coats. I felt that 2 coats made the color richer, even though there was no inconsistency or VNL with one. This color is so soft and girly and beautiful!

I finished Happy off by stamping with Essence I Love My Jeans and the pretty retro-looking daisy design from Bundle Monster's BM-205.

What pink did you decide on today? :)

GOSH Holographic!

I think I'll let the pictures do the talking on this one.... Words... There are none.

The above 2 pictures are in light box with no flash... This is what it looks like in normal light. The rest are in light box with flash.

The birth of a black holographic!

I created a gorgeous black holographic yesterday with my SpectraFlair pigment, so I wanted to share it with you!

I started with Orly Black Vinyl. I've had this for YEARS... I bought it in high school when I was going through my Goth Kid phase. ;)

I added about 1/8 tsp of my SpectraFlair pigment. This is one of those tiny collectors spoons, so it's less pigment than it actually looks like. (The spoon is about 1/2 the size of a regular tsp.) I added it carefully to my polish, and shooooooooook it  up good.....

And this is what I got! A BLACK HOLO! I'll let the rest of the pictures do the talking. ;)
